Creatine, Ernest Hemingway, NOX, habits
What’s on my mind as we begin 2022:
Creatine is one of the best researched supplements out there, and I use it daily. Naturally my kids have asked if they should use it (they are 14 and 15 yrs old). There’s not a lot of research on it in teens but the limited data shows it to be safe. Here’s a review of the topic and here’s the one I use.
A recent post from one of my favorite billionaires, Jeffrey Gundlach (the new “Bond King”). He’s a super interesting guy, always thoughtful, and he shares a lot of good content. This is the Hemingway book that gave the video its name. In the video he covers inflation, employment, markets, the Fed.
You might find this interesting:
Israel has approved a nasal spray to kill coronavirus in your nasal passages. It achieved impressive results in a Phase II trial. The active ingredient is nitric oxide (NOX). That will sound familiar to anyone in the weightlifting world.
NOX enhancers are in many pre-workout supplements, the theory being that they help you achieve a muscle pump during weightlifting due to the vasodilation enhancement. Arnold says the pump feels good. Really good.
I missed this article way back in April 2020 (seems like an eternity ago) but it covers the topic as well.
I like paper journals. I’m going to try this one when I get to the end of my current one. Seems like a really elegant design. I tend to prefer a stiff cover so I can more easily write when not at a desk. Hopefully I can find one to go with the Midori.
If you are working on NY resolutions or trying to set new habits, this podcast from Andrew Huberman might be of interest.
